A car can look distorted even when the original photograph is accurate. For US dealers using AutoManager WebManager, check the photo fitting method before blaming the camera or editing tool.
The setting determines what happens when the uploaded image shape differs from the display shape.
Understand the three fitting choices
AutoManager’s photo-settings guide, updated January 2024, describes fitting choices that preserve the image with padding, fill the frame by cropping, or stretch it to the selected shape. It also describes aspect-ratio options and separate overlaid and clean photo copies.
Check the current settings in your account. This guide does not promise a particular allowance or export resolution for every subscription.
Keep the car’s proportions credible
Stretching can change the apparent width or height of the car. Compare the displayed image with its original using the wheels and body proportions. If a circular wheel looks oval after fitting, investigate the display treatment before taking another photograph.
Cropping creates a different problem. The proportions may remain correct while a mirror or bumper disappears. Leave useful space around the vehicle at capture, then inspect the fitted result rather than relying on the original alone.
Test padding in the actual design
A fit treatment can preserve the entire vehicle by adding space around the photograph. Review how that space looks against your website background and beside neighboring inventory images.
Choose a portrait source, a wide source and a typical exterior shot for the check. One well-framed landscape photograph may conceal a setting that handles the rest of your stock badly. The aim is consistent presentation without sacrificing useful detail.
Confirm existing-photo updates
The support guide explains that changes can require updating existing photographs. After adjusting your account settings, inspect a vehicle that was already online as well as a new upload. Do not assume a settings save has rebuilt every previous picture.
Where overlays are involved, check both the clean and branded versions and the destination export selection. A correct fitting decision is less useful if the wrong version is distributed.
Review processing and display separately
Motuva Studio prepares exterior presentation files. Keep originals and approve the processed output first; then inspect the result after WebManager fitting. That separates an image-processing issue from a display-crop issue.
Upload through your normal workflow. No direct Motuva–AutoManager integration is implied. Finish by opening the actual inventory page on a phone and confirming that the full car, useful details and intended image version remain visible.
