Autotrader US: still photos alongside a 360 walkaround

Plan still photographs alongside your US Autotrader walkaround: check extracted frames, preserve interior detail and review the shopper-facing listing.

A walkaround and a still gallery serve different buying questions. A shopper may use the walkaround to understand the vehicle as a whole, then return to a still photograph to inspect a wheel, seat or control.

For US dealers listing on Autotrader, plan those two views together instead of assuming that one capture automatically answers every question.

Keep the product boundary clear

vAuto’s SnapLot 360 information describes a guided capture process, still-photo extraction and an interactive Autotrader experience. Those are features of that vendor workflow. They do not mean that any video uploaded by any route becomes an interactive listing.

Check which capture and publishing tools your dealership actually has. This guide does not set an Autotrader photo allowance or describe a private-seller package.

Review extracted frames as photographs

A frame that works within a moving sequence may be weak on its own. Check whether the car is centered, whether a person crossed behind it and whether the wheels or mirrors are blurred. Select the lead image because it presents the vehicle clearly, rather than because it was the first frame captured.

Do this before the team adds banners or distributes the files. Replacing a weak source image early is easier than finding the same frame across several destination galleries later.

Capture the details the lap missed

Make a separate list of interior and equipment views. Include the seating layout, cargo space and any controls that explain an advertised feature. An exterior lap cannot show whether a rear seat is stained or how the cargo floor is arranged.

For condition details, pair the close-up with a wider view. Keep that evidence beside the polished exterior presentation. A smooth browsing experience should still let a buyer inspect the actual unit.

Assign an owner to each output

Write down who approves the walkaround and who approves the still gallery. If both outputs come from the same capture, a correction may need two publishing checks. Replacing a still image alone does not prove that the moving view has changed.

After upload, open the customer-facing listing and use both experiences. Verify that they show the same stock unit and the same current condition, particularly after repairs or reconditioning.

Where Motuva belongs

Motuva Studio prepares exterior still images with a studio background. It does not create the Autotrader interactive walkaround described above. Keep your originals, check processed output against them, and upload selected files through your established inventory process.

The useful final question is simple: can a shopper understand the car from the overview and inspect it from the details? Review both before calling the listing ready.
