A feature description does not always belong inside the photograph. US dealers using Dealer Car Search can make a clearer choice by separating information about the image from artwork placed over it.
The question is where a shopper needs to see the information, and how much of the vehicle remains visible.
Three tools, three jobs
Dealer Car Search’s inventory platform page describes website photo captions, individual photo overlays and marketing image tiles. They are different presentation tools, rather than three names for the same image edit.
Check which options are available in your setup and where each is displayed. This guide does not reproduce account controls or assume the same treatment travels to every third-party destination.
Use a caption to explain a detail
For a photograph of folding rear seats, a short caption can explain what the viewer is looking at. Keep it tied to the actual unit: confirm the mechanism and configuration before describing it.
A caption can also locate a condition detail. “Passenger-side rear bumper” tells the shopper where to look without placing a large label across the mark itself. Check whether the caption remains visible in your website’s full gallery and mobile layout.
Reserve overlays for a deliberate purpose
An overlay changes the image file or its presentation. Before adding one, ask whether the same information is already clear beside the photograph. Repeating the dealership name, stock number and feature list can leave little space for the car.
If an overlay is useful, inspect it at thumbnail size. Text that reads well on a designer’s large screen may become an unreadable stripe on a phone. Keep a clean version so a different destination does not inherit artwork it does not need.
Keep marketing tiles from replacing evidence
A marketing tile may explain a dealership service or campaign, but it does not show the vehicle’s interior or condition. Review the gallery with the tiles removed temporarily. Can the remaining actual photographs still answer the main questions about the car?
Check that time-sensitive artwork is removed when the campaign ends. Assign that check to an owner instead of assuming a future photo upload will replace it.
Approve the whole page
Motuva Studio can prepare the exterior presentation files you upload through your usual process. Review the processed car against its original and keep separately captured interiors and details.
Then inspect the shopper-facing listing. Confirm that captions describe the correct pictures, overlays leave the car readable, and tiles have not crowded out useful evidence. This is an editorial and file handoff; it does not promise a direct Motuva–Dealer Car Search integration.
