Your full-size vehicle photograph and the image a shopper first sees may be different shapes. Before reshooting an entire car, inspect how your US DealerOn website displays the files you already have.
The useful test is whether the vehicle remains recognizable in the inventory view and inspectable in the gallery.
Treat old advice as advice
DealerOn’s December 2021 photography guide recommends care with lighting, angles, backgrounds and a varied photo set. Its suggested image count belongs to that dated guide. It is not proof of a current account upload limit.
Use the advice to improve capture, then inspect your actual website layout. Ask your provider about current settings if the displayed result differs from the approved file.
Pick a useful review sample
Choose a compact car, a tall SUV and a long pickup from your stock. Their shapes expose different framing problems. A crop that suits the compact car might remove the pickup’s rear bumper or the SUV’s roof rails.
For each one, compare the original file, the inventory thumbnail and the expanded gallery image. Write down where the problem first appears. This helps the team distinguish a capture issue from a website display issue.
Leave space with a purpose
At capture, include enough room around the vehicle to tolerate reasonable display cropping. Keep the camera level and the whole car visible. Avoid solving every crop problem by moving so far away that the vehicle becomes tiny.
If one corner disappears in the thumbnail, try a better-framed source image before adding text or decorative borders. Check the result in the actual layout; a design preview alone cannot establish what the shopper sees.
Make the gallery worth opening
The first image should identify the car clearly. Later views should explain its interior, equipment and condition. Keep controls readable and photograph wear with enough context to locate it.
A polished exterior does not remove the need for those details. The car photo shot list can help the team find gaps before the vehicle leaves the photography area.
Approve the file, then the page
Motuva Studio can prepare exterior presentation files. Compare them with the originals, retain your own interior and condition photos, and upload the approved set through your usual process.
Finally, open the published DealerOn inventory page on a phone and a larger screen. Check the crop and expanded view together. This workflow does not promise a direct integration, a particular website setting or a measured improvement in leads.
