If your dealership already has an image preparation tool, adding another one should be a deliberate decision. Processing the same exterior twice can make approval harder: the second operator may never see the original vehicle photo.
For US dealers using vAuto, first establish which tool owns the background step.
Acknowledge the native options
vAuto’s merchandising page describes background replacement, overlays and photo distribution. The page distinguishes options for a main image and broader exterior treatment. Check the products and settings enabled in your account rather than assuming that vAuto only distributes untouched photographs.
Motuva is another way to prepare exterior files. This article does not rank the tools, compare prices or promise that one produces better results for every vehicle.
Make one person responsible for processing
Choose a source folder containing the original photographs. Decide whether the approved exterior set will be prepared in your existing vendor tool or in Motuva before it enters your upload process.
Record that choice beside the stock reference. If another department later receives an already processed set, it should know that the background has been edited. A second replacement should require a reason and a fresh comparison with the originals.
Compare one vehicle fairly
Use the same original exterior image when reviewing available approaches. Keep the camera angle and export size comparable. Inspect the wheel edges, glass, mirrors and shadows, then view the result as a small inventory thumbnail.
Do not judge only the backdrop. A clean studio surrounding the wrong wheel shape or a distracting edge needs correction. Keep the original available so the reviewer can distinguish the car from the editing result.
Keep overlays downstream
Approve the vehicle presentation before adding campaign artwork. That leaves a clean set for destinations with different requirements and makes it easier to replace an expired banner without repeating the image processing.
Interiors, cargo views and condition close-ups still belong in the gallery. They answer questions that an exterior background cannot answer. Use the car photo shot list when a set is missing those views.
Verify the distributed result
After your normal inventory update, inspect one destination and your own website. Confirm the lead photo, the image version and any artwork. If they differ, trace the source and export settings rather than processing the pictures again blindly.
Motuva Studio supplies downloadable exterior images for your existing workflow. No direct vAuto connection is implied. The final approval is the dealer’s review of the actual car, the selected files and the published gallery.
