Choose a background

How to pick a studio background from the library, and what to consider when choosing.

After you upload your car photo, you pick a studio. The studio determines the background, the lighting and the overall look of the generated image.

Browsing the studio library

All plans — including Free — have access to the full studio library. Studios are shown as thumbnail previews. Select a thumbnail to see a larger preview of how that studio looks.

What to consider when choosing

Background colour and contrast. Light cars show up sharply against dark studio backgrounds and vice versa. A white car in a white-infinity studio can look flat if there isn't enough contrast in the lighting.

Lighting style. Some studios use clean, even lighting. Others have a more dramatic single-source look. Consider whether the listing platform you're targeting tends toward bright, clinical images or something warmer.

Consistency across stock. If you're shooting a whole forecourt, picking one or two studios and sticking to them gives your listings a consistent look — which tends to perform better on automotive platforms than a mix of different backgrounds.

Can I preview before generating?

Yes. Select any studio thumbnail to preview it. Previewing doesn't use your image allowance — only generating does.

Build-your-own studios

Pro and Ultra subscribers can build their own studios from scratch, choosing the room, backdrop, lighting rig and angles. See Build your own studio. Free subscribers use the library only.
