Resolution & file formats

What resolution Motuva images are, which format they download in, and whether they meet marketplace standards.

Output format

Motuva images download as JPEG files. This is the format used by all major UK automotive listing platforms and is compatible with standard dealer stock management systems.

Output resolution

Motuva produces images at high resolution, suitable for full-size listing display on automotive platforms. The exact output resolution is consistent across all plans — there's no reduced-resolution output on Free.

Do I need to resize before uploading to my listing platform?

In most cases, no. Motuva images are ready to upload directly. If your listing platform has a maximum file size, you can compress the image slightly before uploading without meaningful quality loss — automotive platforms display images at significantly lower resolution than the source file requires.

Are images suitable for print?

Motuva images are produced for digital listing use. They're suitable for web display, marketplace listings, social media and standard marketing digital formats. For large-format print (e.g. forecourt banners), the output may not meet minimum DPI requirements — check your printer's specifications.

What format are uploaded source photos accepted in?

You can upload source photos as JPEG, PNG, HEIC or WebP. See Upload a car photo for details including the maximum file size.

Same quality on every plan

The output resolution and quality is identical across Free, Pro and Ultra. There's no "full quality" mode hidden behind a paywall — what you see on Free is the same quality as Ultra.
