Delete account

What deleting your Motuva account removes, what it keeps, and how to ask for your photos to be removed first.

Deleting your Motuva account removes your personal details and ends your access to Motuva. Your photos, adverts, studios and renders are kept, with your dealership's details and the names you gave them taken off. Some records stay with us permanently — they are all listed below. This cannot be undone.

What is removed

Your details. Your name, email address, phone number, address, website and password are deleted. Your dealership logos are deleted from our storage, including the copy saved inside your studios.

Your branding on the work we keep. From the adverts and studios we keep, we remove the dealership details on your banners — name, phone, website and small print — along with your photo file names, the names you gave your adverts, studios and API keys, and any text you sent with an advert.

Your connections to us. Your phones stop receiving notifications from us, we delete you from our marketing email list, any subscription you have is cancelled straight away and your API keys stop working. You will not be able to sign in again.

What is kept

Your images, and what we use them for. Your photos, the adverts made from them, your studios and your renders all stay in our storage, and we go on using them to improve our AI. They keep an internal account number and none of the details above. We do not delete them, and there is no date on which we will. If you want them removed you have to ask us before you delete the account — see Before you delete. Who owns your images, and how they are used, is in Who owns my images — data & privacy.

Branding that is part of the picture. Where your logo or signage is printed into an image — on a studio wall, or on a licence plate cover — that image is kept exactly as it is. We cannot take the branding out without re-making the picture.

Your original files, as you sent them. We keep your uploads exactly as you uploaded them, including any location and camera details your phone saved inside the file. The file name you gave a photo is taken off your account — but where an image was reported to us as not right, we keep a copy of it with a record of how it was made, and that record still carries the file name.

Our own records. The account itself stays — an internal number, your country, a note of what we showed you and when, and a reference to your billing records at our payment provider. It carries none of your personal details. Separately, if anyone at Motuva took an action on your account, our record of what we did keeps your name and email address as they were at the time, and so does our record of any request you made to have photos removed. That is our audit trail and we keep it.

Billing records. Your billing history, and the name, email address and billing address you paid with, are kept by us and by our payment provider for seven years. UK law requires a company to keep its accounting records for at least six.

One email address, until a deletion can be finished. When you delete your account we ask our analytics provider to delete their record of you. We cannot complete that request today, so your email address stays with that provider and we keep one copy of it so we can finish the job when we can. We have no date for that.

Apart from billing records, none of this has an expiry date. We do not delete it on a schedule.

This is deliberate and is set out in our Privacy Notice.

Before you delete

Deleting your account cancels your subscription straight away — not at the end of the period you have already paid for — and we do not refund the rest of it. If you only want to stop paying, cancel the subscription instead: it runs to the end of your current billing cycle and your account stays open.

If you want your photos removed as well, ask us first. Afterwards is too late: once the account is gone you cannot sign in, you cannot reach us from the app, and the address on the account has been deleted.

  1. Ask us to remove your photos on the Support screen, or contact us, and wait for us to confirm.
  2. Select Download my data on the delete screen for a copy of everything we hold about your account.
  3. Download any images you want to keep — see Download your images.

How to delete your account

  1. Go to Account > Delete account.
  2. Read what is removed and what is kept.
  3. Select Delete my account.
  4. Type your email address to confirm, then select Delete account.

The web app has no delete control — contact us from the address on the account and we will delete it for you.
