Click Dealer is a UK digital retail and finance platform built for independent dealerships — dealer websites (ClickWeb), a dealer management system (ClickDMS), lead capture, finance tools, and stock feeds out to marketplaces including Auto Trader, AA Cars and eBay Motors. Over 1,800 dealerships run on it. If you are one of them, this article explains how AI car photography fits into that setup.
The short version: Motuva is not a competitor to Click Dealer and does not replace any part of it. Click Dealer is your system of record — vehicle data, pricing, your website, your feeds, your leads. Motuva does one job that sits in front of all of that: it takes the photos you shoot on the forecourt and turns them into consistent studio-quality images. Those images then go into your Click Dealer vehicle records the same way your photos do today, and your website and feeds carry them out from there.
Two tools, two different jobs
It helps to be precise about the division of labour, because the two products never overlap.
Click Dealer handles your data. Vehicle records, pricing, the dealer website, feeds to the marketplaces, enquiries, finance applications. Everything that makes a car a listing lives there.
Motuva handles your images. A phone photo goes in; a studio-quality image comes out — your chosen environment, your branding if you want it, plates handled on every image. The output is a set of full-resolution JPEG or PNG files.
Motuva never touches your Click Dealer account or your data. It produces image files, and you put them wherever your photos already go.
The workflow, step by step
- A vehicle arrives. Photograph it on the forecourt with a phone — the same shot list you use now. No studio, no backdrop, no waiting for the weather.
- Process the set in Motuva. Upload the photos through the web app, pick your studio setting — room, backdrop, lighting, branding — and Motuva returns the studio images. A full vehicle set processes in one batch; if you are photographing several arrivals in a day, see how batch processing handles a day's stock.
- Download and upload to Click Dealer. Add the finished images to the vehicle record exactly as you add photos today. From there your ClickWeb site and your marketplace feeds distribute them as normal.
Nothing about your Click Dealer setup changes. There is no integration to configure before you can start — to Click Dealer, Motuva's output is just better photographs.
One honesty note: the car in the output is the car you photographed, its own pixels composited into a rendered studio — the vehicle itself is never generated and cannot be altered. Check each output against the original before it goes on a listing regardless, the same way you would proof an advert: a difficult shot can separate imperfectly at the edges, and the advert is yours.
Where the images end up
Because Click Dealer feeds your stock out to the marketplaces, one processed set of images works everywhere at once: your own website, Auto Trader, AA Cars, eBay Motors and the rest of your feed destinations all show the same consistent set. That is the practical advantage of doing the photography step properly once, upstream of the system of record.
Two channel-specific notes. Marketplaces restrict text and overlays on listing images, so keep uploads clean — banner overlays and burned-in branding are for your own website and social channels, not marketplace feeds. And since most Click Dealer stock ends up on Auto Trader, it is worth reading where AI photo editing fits in an Auto Trader workflow for the marketplace-side detail.
Automating the upload step
Everything above works with no technical setup: process, download, upload. For dealers who want to remove the manual step — typically multi-site groups processing high volumes — Motuva's Ultra plan includes API access, which lets your processed images be produced and collected programmatically rather than by hand. The manual workflow works on every plan from day one; the API is there when the volume justifies automating it.
What it costs
Motuva's pricing is flat monthly amounts, not credits. Free covers 20 images a month — full output quality, no watermark — using the studio library. Pro: 150 images and adds build-your-own studios, so your images can match your dealership's look. Ultra: unlimited images plus the API. Most dealers process three to eight images per vehicle, which makes Pro roughly 20–50 vehicles a month and Ultra a fit for a full forecourt's turnover. Details are on the pricing page.
Does this work with other UK platforms?
Yes — the workflow is identical for any system where you upload photos to a vehicle record. Dealers on other UK platforms can see the same walkthrough for CarDealer5, and the principle holds for any stock system: Motuva makes the images, your platform does everything else.
Try it on your own stock first
The fair test is your own cars. Take the photos from a recent listing, run them through the free plan, and compare the output against what is live on your site now. Twenty free images a month is enough to process two to five vehicles and make the judgment with your own stock, not a demo car.
