DealerCenter is a cloud DMS built for independent dealers — inventory management, desking and lender access, CRM, dealer websites, BHPH tools, and listing distribution that pushes stock out to more than 30 platforms including Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist. Over 20,000 dealerships use it, most of them exactly the kind of independent operation that does everything in one system.
This article is about the one input DealerCenter depends on but cannot create: the photographs. Motuva is not a DMS and does not compete with DealerCenter on anything — no inventory management, no websites, no listings. It does a single job upstream: turning lot photos into consistent studio-quality images. Those images then go into your DealerCenter inventory the same way your photos do today, and your website and listing feeds carry them everywhere from there.
What each tool does
DealerCenter is your operating system. Inventory records, deals, lenders, the website, the listing syndication. When a car gets listed, DealerCenter is doing the listing.
Motuva is your photo studio. You photograph the car with a phone on the lot; Motuva processes the photos into studio-quality images — one consistent environment for the whole inventory, license plates handled on every image, your branding embedded if you want it. The output is full-resolution JPEG or PNG files.
Motuva never touches your DealerCenter account or data. It produces image files; you upload them like any other photo.
The workflow
- Photograph the vehicle at intake — phone photos, shot wherever the car is parked. Cover the angles buyers expect: exterior, interior, wheels, trunk.
- Process the set in Motuva. Upload through the web app, choose your studio setting, download the finished set. A typical vehicle is three to eight images, processed in one pass — and on days with multiple arrivals, bulk processing handles them together.
- Upload to the DealerCenter inventory record exactly as you add photos now. Your website updates and your listing distribution pushes the new images out across the 30+ platforms automatically, because that is DealerCenter's job and it keeps doing it.
No integration, no setup, no change to your DealerCenter configuration. The whole loop — photograph, process, upload — fits inside the same intake routine you already run, and the person doing it does not need to learn a new system beyond choosing a studio setting and pressing go.
One photo set, thirty-plus destinations
Listing distribution is the reason the photo step pays off disproportionately for DealerCenter users: a single processed set appears on your website, Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist and every other destination at once. Do the image work once, upstream, and every channel improves together. For an independent lot competing against bigger operations on the same feeds, presentation is one of the few levers that costs nothing extra per channel — the same set of clean, consistent images carries the lot's whole online presence.
Two channel notes. First, on crowded feed-style channels the first photo does almost all the work — the hero shot guide covers how to win the click. Second, channel rules differ: most platforms restrict text and overlays on listing images, and Facebook Marketplace has its own quirks, covered in what gets more replies on Facebook Marketplace. Keep feed-bound uploads clean; overlays and burned-in branding belong on your own website and social pages.
The honesty rule
The output is your own photograph of the vehicle, composited into a studio rendered around it — the vehicle in the output is the vehicle you photographed, pixel for pixel, because nothing about the car is generated. Check each output against the original before it goes live anyway, the same way you would proof a deal document: a difficult shot can separate imperfectly from its background, and the listing is yours either way. The background is presentation; the car the buyer drives away must be the car in the photos.
What it costs
Flat monthly pricing with no credit system — built for the same kind of operation DealerCenter serves, where costs need to be predictable and nobody has time for a sales process. Free is 20 images a month at full output quality with no watermark, using the studio library. Pro is $49 a month for 150 images and adds build-your-own studios. Ultra is $99 a month for unlimited images plus API access for automated workflows. At three to eight images per vehicle, the free plan tests a handful of cars, Pro covers roughly 20–50 vehicles a month, and Ultra covers a lot turning inventory daily. Details are on the pricing page.
The same pattern at any scale
The workflow is the same whether the system of record is an independent-dealer DMS or an enterprise platform — stores on CDK Global run the identical pattern. Photograph, process, upload, let the system distribute.
Test it on your own cars
Pull the photos from one of your current listings, run them through the free plan, and put the output next to what is live. Twenty free images a month is enough to judge with your own inventory — no card, no demo, no sales call.
