If you've used photo editing or background-removal tools before, here's where Motuva fits.
Photo editing
Editing adjusts the photo you took: brightness, contrast, cropping, colour. The photo is both the starting point and the result.
Background removal
Background-removal tools find the car, cut it out and put it on a template background. The car is still your photograph. The result can look pasted on, because the background wasn't made for the angle the car was shot from, and often nothing ties the car to the floor.
What Motuva does
Motuva also starts by cutting the car out of your photo, so the car, including the reflections in its paint, is your photograph. What's different is everything around it:
- Your studio is rendered from the same camera angle as your photo, so the floor, walls and perspective line up with the car.
- The car gets a matching shadow, so it stands on the floor rather than floating.
- If you use plate covers, your branded plate goes over the real one.
The same photo in the same studio always comes out the same. See How Motuva Studio works.
What this means in practice
- The car is exactly as photographed. Motuva doesn't change its colour, badges or trim, and doesn't repair damage.
- The source photo matters most. Its light, its reflections and anything touching the car carry through to the result. See Photo requirements for a good source image.
- Each marketplace sets its own rules on edited images. See AI images on AutoTrader and other marketplaces.
- The difference shows in the setting: a studio that matches your camera angle, with a matching shadow, rather than a cut-out on a flat backdrop.
