Build your own studio

Pro and Ultra subscribers can compose their own studio — room, backdrop, lighting and angles. Here's how.

Pro and Ultra subscribers can build their own studios in Motuva Studio. Instead of picking from the ready-made library, you compose the environment yourself — choosing the room shape, backdrop material, lighting rig and camera angles.

Who can build studios

Build-your-own is available on Pro and Ultra only. Free plan subscribers use the studio library. See Use the studio library (Free).

How to build a studio

  1. From the Studio section, select Build a studio.
  2. Choose a room type. This sets the floor, walls and overall space.
  3. Choose a backdrop. This is the surface behind and beneath the car — colour, material, texture.
  4. Set the lighting rig. Options range from flat even light to more directional dramatic setups.
  5. Set the camera angle. This determines the position the car is viewed from in the final image.
  6. Give your studio a name and save it.

Your studio is now available whenever you generate new images. You can build as many studios as you like.

Editing a studio you've already built

Open the studio from your studio list and select Edit. Changes to the studio apply to images you generate after saving — existing images are not re-generated automatically.

Can I re-generate existing images with an edited studio?

Not automatically. If you want to update an image after editing the studio, open the original image and select Re-generate. See Re-generate an image.

Studio library vs build-your-own

If you're not sure where to start, begin with the library. The ready-made studios are the most commonly used setups and are a good baseline. Build-your-own is useful when you want a specific look — a branded backdrop, a particular lighting style or an angle that matches your group's existing image standard.
